Happy Kidney Day!!!

Just wanted to let you know that Ethan had his latest kidney appointment today. Well, we have some good news. Ethan's left kidney has completed cleared of the hydronephrosis. In January, he was at moderate to severe. His right kidney is currently at a mild condition which was at moderate. So that means that he does not need surgery!!!! THANK GOD!!!!! We will still have to take him to the Urinologist once a year until he is 5 years to make sure that everything is alright.

So what does this all mean... We still have to be careful of not letting him getting sick especially with a fever. So we are going to still wait until 1 year until we let him completely interact with other kids. At 1 year, he will have his immune system built up enough to fight some of the illnesses. We also do not have any travel restrictions, so we will be going to Alabama during the first week of June. The doctor said just have fun driving 11 hours with 3 kids. Can anyone say Chevy Chase and National Lampoons Vacation movie?!?!?!?

It was funny, the doctor could not believe the improvement that he had and his size. He also said that because of Ethan's growth and size, that it was a positive for him. If he was not growing so quickly, the situation may have been different. His kidneys are considered large for his age, but normal for his size.
